Brief History Of CEEF
The Community Enhancement Educational Foundation (CEEF) originated from the Christian Empowerment Sustainable Program (CESP) which was established in 1994 and dissolved in 2017. CESP implemented projects with innovative and effective strategies, promoting democratic values, gender equity in education, health, and governance which met the protection and empowerment needs of women, children, and youths in Liberia and earned a successful reputation as an accountable project manager and strategic service provider with expertise in advocacy and capacity building.
Below is the summary of achievement:
- From 2022 -2023, with support from the government of Liberia, extractive Companies, CEEF runs nationwide youth-Professional Skills development seminars;
- From 2021 to present, conducts short- term training course in Leadership, Sustainable Development Management (SDM), International Economic Relations and Diplomacy (IRD), Result Based Project Management (RBPM), Conflict Resolution, social work etc;
- From 2019-2020, CEEF conducted programs for the reduction of Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV) in 20 rural communities in Zorzor District, Lofa County, Liberia, by empowering young girls and women (15-25 years) with self-sustainable livelihood skills in agribusiness and promoting peace in communities through awareness-raising with support from Grand Challenge Canada, and the Government of Liberia.
- From 2011-2016 with support from USAID through IREX, UN foundation through Public Health Institute, VIIV Health Care, the organization was engaged in advocacy initiatives with the aim of promoting the protection of adolescent, and women which contributed to the passing of the rape law, and the amended of the National Policy on Girls Education (NPGE). 5000 young girls and 2400 Parent-Teachers Associations participated in these programs;
- From 2013 to 2015, with support from UNDP, promoting food security through training to ensure environmentally friendly practices that help tackle climate change and its effects on agricultural practices to alleviate poverty and develop smallholder rice farmers through the production, processing, and sale of their rice. 500 heads of cooperatives in Lofa County benefitted from this project. - From 2005 to 2015 With support from UNDP, UNFEM (Formerly called), UNICEF, the organization worked with communities within the fifteen counties of Liberia and provided diverse capacity building training and trained 2500 community leaders, women and youth groups in gender, rule of law and the administration of justice.
- From 2007 to 2013 with support from the Liberian government, World Bank (through ARC), USAID (Through DAI). A total of 7,500 youths acquired livelihood skills which include business management skills, vocational skills, job skills, and life skills, and
- In 1996 a self-supported training center name Human Resource Development Center was established and provided short-term professional training from 1996 to 2012 and trained a total of 1500 staff of NGOs in Social work with emphases in Counseling, community development, and project management and resulted in improved quality service delivery at the community level.
