WHY WE EXIST

The Manor River Union (MRU) basin is among the worst affected sub-region in Africa for the fact that has been disproportionately afflicted by the crippling outcomes of civil strives and wars, bola pandemics, hurting poverty and its attending lack of good healthcare services, quality education, access to economic opportunities and the exposure of the vulnerable to abuse and violence of all sorts.

Among other causal factors, bad governance and the lack of people centered public policy actions accountant for state of affairs in this sub-region. What is disturbing is the fact that the peoples of these undeserved enclaves are becoming increasingly aware of their plights and the place of the perpetrators. CEEF exists to build bridges across the gaps and thereby averting impending civil conflicts of crisis proportion.

CEEF acknowledges the fact that the MRU basin has a vast natural and human resources wealth potentials but needs the capacity and the political will to do things differently for the improvement of the socio-economic and political conditions of its peoples. Adequate consideration is yet to be made whereby the basin’s greatest sustainable assets, (the human potentials) are maximally utilized toward achieving sustainable national development and the advancement of rural communities. The opportunity available to the basin’s policy makers and envelopment actors is the willingness and the ability of rural community dwellers to receive and support genuine initiatives that are directed at changing their conditions for the better.
